From Street to School

Vaishali was leading her life in a miserable situation! Her father was an incurable drunkard. There was only pain and no peace at all, because they were abandoned by mother. Homeless and hopeless; grew up on the streets. Begging the only way to keep alive.

This is the sad story of a six-year old girl, Vaishali. Desperately hopeless with no home to go to, no one to talk to, with a future darker than her past!

Her father, realising that the little one is severely uncontrollable, left her with her old, poor grandparents living in a God-forsaken village, far, far away from civilisation.

But all that is now a thing of the past. When she was spotted by our team, it was obvious that she was deprived of the warmth of love and care. When we offered to give her shelter in our Home, their eyes brightened with a look of relief.

By God’s grace, the girl, Vaishali is now a joyful and mischievous, a little star in our Home. During the last seven years that she has been with us, her confidence has shot up and is one of the brightest students in her class.

Vaishali is not alone. There are twenty others like her, each with a similar story of a sad past and a confident future.
